Sam Son, 16 km from Thanh Hoa, originally was a holiday resort for French civil
servants and officials. With comfortable weather and clear water, Sam Son nowadays
is the most popular beach resort in the north, ideally for totally rest and relaxation.
There are a lot of natural spots to visit in Sam Son such as Suoi ca than Cam Luong,
Truong Le Mountain, Doc Cuoc Temple, Co Tien Pagoda, The Ho Castle.
What to Do ? Sam Son is quite small, thus cyclo is a popular means of transportation for tourists.
Cyclo drivers are friendly and willing to take you to some local places at very
cheap price. Sam Son is really a good place for relaxation, especially with Van
Chai Resort.
This is the only resort reaching the international standard, having
private beautiful beach and spa facilities and out of the busy center enough to
enjoy the peaceful environment surrounded.
When to go?
It is possible to make a holiday at
Sam Son year round. However, during winter,
Sam Son is pretty much deserted and just a few hotels stay open.

It is common that local people will follow you and try to sell their stuff such
as dried seafood. If you don't want, just say No and ignore them. Most of Sam Son's

hotels offer luxury hotel prices without the luxury. During summer (May
to September),
Sam Son Beach is chock - a - block with
Vietnamese weekenders and prices
go up crazily. It is recommended to make early reservation. Or, it is fine for an
out - of - season trip.
