Mui Ne is along a 22 km stretch of white sands from Phan Thiet to a fishing village
at the tip of the Mui Ne peninsula and 220km away from Ho Chi Minh City. It is a
popular destination worldwide thanks to lovely scenery of swaying palm trees, clean
and blue sea as well as the amazing enormous Sand Hill.
What to Do ? Popular activities in
Mui Ne include relaxing on the beach, golfing at the Ocean
Dunes Golf Club, a top-notch 18-hole golf course designed by Nick Faldo and visiting
the spectacular sand dunes of Hon Rom or exploring Cham architecture.
Other interesting
water sport available are kitesurfing and windsurfing, with the best wind from November
to April, and is also one of the few destinations in
Vietnam for surfing, with waves
from August to December.
When to go? Mui Ne sees only about half the rainfall of nearby Phan Thiet. The wet season (June
to September), rains tend to be fairly light and sporadic. The waves are best from
August to December, and the wind is best from late October to late April; so never
really a bad time to go.
Travel Tips: Mui Ne is small enough to get around on foot or you can rent a bicycle from most
hotels.
