Kampong Kliang Travel Guide
Kampong Kliang is a remote village located on the northern lake-edge, about 35 km east of Siem Reap. In the rainy season the whole village will be covered by water and in the dry season the forest of stilted houses rise up to 10 meters in the air. Like Kampong Phluk, Kampong Kliang is a permanent community within the floodplain of Tonle Sap Lake, with an economy based on fishing and surrounded by flooded forest. But Kampong Khleang is significantly larger with nearly 10 times the population of Kampong Phluk, making it the largest community on the Lake.
